What is the view from your window? I have a sweeet view of San Francisco from my hospital room. I can see Golden Gate Park, the Golden Gate Bridge just beyond that, the bay, the Marin Headlands, and if I lean forward and look to the right, I can see downtown San Francisco. If only I weren't stuck in here... I would be out strolling... What do you see??
Food and Beach in San Francisco? My husband and I are going to SF on Saturday for the afternoon. We would like to get our favorite soup in a bread bowl and visit a beach. Anyone have any suggestions. We dont want to go to far into the city this time since we only have the afternoon. I love the Marin Headlands Rodeo Beach, but want to try something different.
Looking for information on the following New Year's Eve Events/Locations.? I am going to be spending New Year's w/ my boyfriend in SF, and I have some questions about the following: Union Square and Embarcadero -so what is there to do at these places (ie. shopping, free entertainment, etc)? Any big events like a ball dropping at midnight? I know that there are fireworks at Embarcadero. -Are they near eachother? Ghiradelli Square -yeah any information about this place would be great, I know basically next to nothing about it..except maybe it's near Pier 39? Maybe? Dunno :). Fireworks at midnight: If not watching the fireworks at one of the busy places above, I'm thinking about parking/going somewhere quiet and scenic, probably like at a beach. Any suggestions? So far I've got: Marin Headlands. And the only beach I've been to in SF is Ocean Beach, will I be able to see the fireworks from there? -Anyone know anything about the Renegade New Year's Eve at Ocean Beach? -Also, any suggestions for parking at these places? Thanks!
Alcatraz Escape? Did the three men that ecaped from Alcratraz Heading for the Marin Headlands or Angel island on thier raft. The FBI were told they were headed to Angel island but that would have been impossible. but they could have used the tides to take them to the Marin Headlands then dump the Equiptmant they used so the tide carried it back to the Western shore of Angel island as a distraction. So my question is were they heading to the Marin Headlands or Angel island?
How has Melissa Etheridge’s song “I need to wake up” inspired you? I love to listen to it when I drive my Hummer around San Francisco. Sometimes we park at the Marin Headlands at night and I break out a portable generator and big screen to watch Al Gore’s movie. We typically have a bonfire (I know you aren’t supposed to have fires but it is typically such a beautiful place, I can’t help myself!) up there while enjoying fois gras. Some As$hole park ranger yelled at us the other night so I just turned up Melissa’s new CD even louder to drown him out. Unfortunately, we had to leave because the Headlands close at 6pm (we snuck around the gate) He cited us for the bonfire but not to worry, being green, I don’t plan on paying it! I stuck it in with the rest of the garbage. All the trash cans were already removed from the park at that time so I just dumped everything into the sea. It shouldn't be a big deal since the sea gives new life. I felt kind of bad about the diapers we threw in though. I didn't want them stinking up my new H3 though. Ugggh
What is a romantic spot near San Francisco to steal a kiss? I am trying to find a romantic spot near San Francisco to have a picnic or do something nice for my boyfriend. I was thinking like Marin Headlands close to sunset time. I want to find somewhere that is not to occupied...somewhere that we can duck behind a tree and steal some kisses or something like that. Do the Marin Headlands have some trees or quite paths? Are there any other places one might suggest? I also, thought it would be cute (since he has a car) that I could tell him the directions step by step so he didn't know where we were going. So, somewhere a little far is fine with me.
