Headlands

How do I get to the Headlands Institute (Golden Gate National Park) in Marin County Ca from the East Bay?

I cant seem to pull it up on Yahoo Maps or Map Quest and the ony directions their web site lists are from SF or Marin County.

  1. Google or mapquest Marin Headlands - 2 ways to get there depending on your location in the E Bay 1) take the bay bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge, cross the Golden Gate and take the 2nd exit (Sausalito) once you're over the bridge. (first exit will be the Vista Point area.) At the first stop sign go right - the very next right will take you to the tunnel that will take you to the Marin Headlands, then just follow the signs. Or, take the San Rafael Richmond Bridge, and head south on hwy 101, take the last exit before the Golden Gate Bridge, turn right & under the overpass, go about 1/2 mile and take the first right to the tunnel as above. Beautiful place = go there all the time - :)
  2. Have you tried google maps? To get to Sausalito (where it is located) you have to get either from SFO or through Martin County (I 580W / I-101)
  3. Please visit Headlands Institute's web page for directions: http://www.yni.org/hi/location_map.html
