What is being done to stop coastal erosion in Louisiana?

I had to watch i video in my biology class about coastal erosion and i cant remember much about what is being done to stop it and i have to write a paper on it so help...please

1. Nothing. I lost my home in Katrina but would not have with the original coastline still in place. Marsh reduces storm surge 1 foot for every 2.5 miles of marsh. Nothing is being done because there is no political will in Louisiana nor in Washington. We will continue to rebuild rather than protect.

Why is Louisiana disappearing? Because the US Army Corp of Engineers built a nice levee system to keep the Mississippi in its banks. When that happened, the crucial recharge of the Atchafaylaya Basin ceased. Therefore, Louisiana will grow only in one direction (south of Venice) and the region west of the Mississippi will eventually erode away.
